Vizio set to launch the world's first Tegra 4-equipped tablet but it has no name yet

Las Vegas's Consumer Electronics Show 2013 got tablet enthusiasts licking their lips with all the up and coming products the various companies had in line for consumers for this year. This included new devices from Samsung, Lenovo, Sony and Panasonic.

Following the success of Google’s Nexus 10, Vizio unveiled their new Tegra 4 tablet at CES 2013. The tablet’s name is not really Tegra 4 - Tegra 4 is, in fact, Nvidia’s new quad-core processor. This is said to be the world’s fastest mobile processor.

Also, it’s also worth mentioning that Vizio’s new tablet is the world’s first Tegra 4-equipped tablet. In terms of the final product anything can change between now and the tablet’s launch date but the screen and software is set in stone.

The resolution sits at 2560 x 1600 pixels, which is comparable to Google’s Nexus 10. The screen looks really good as it rendered photos with amazing quality similar to that of the microsoft surface

As for the software, it is set to run close to “pure” Jelly Bean, which means that bloatware will greatly be minimized. The tablet feels very light to carry around, being noticeably lighter than Apple’s iPad. Preliminary specs include 32 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality, front and rear cameras, and connectivity ports like USB.

Demo videos shown at CES 2013 showcased the tablet’s smooth performance. So far, from what we’ve seen, the Tegra 4 is doing a pretty good job.

So far, no name has been given to Vizio’s new tablet. Vizio has not also released an official price tag but since Vizio is generally known as a value brand, we hope it would be able to make its tablet more affordable for the masses.

Vizio’s new tablet is said to be released somewhere in the second quarter of 2013. Until then, we can only wait and see if Vizio’s Tegra 4 tablet lives up to its name.
